Many people I run into think eating healthy is sooo boring. Well I'm here to tell you, with the wealth of recipes that are out there now and with valuable informative websites such as this men's physique site, the wealth of knowledge you should be able to come up with is insane. Literally there is a healthy recipe for most if not all "bad" foods mimicking them. So, get on the internet, grab a book…whatever…just get researching and get your butt in the kitchen because that is where 6 pack abs come from!!! For example, after you workout slam a 30-50 gram whey/casein protein blend shake after you workout. The slow and fast digesting proteins synergistically work together to kickstart the recovery process after a hard workout at the gym. And if you have a sweet tooth, here is a great recipe to try out and also chalked full of healthy fats, fiber and protein, not to mention lots of vitamins and antioxidants.
ALMOND CHOCOLATE DIP
1 1/3 cup raw almonds OR 2/3 cup almond butter…
When it comes to working out, it seems like I run into many people that are trying the next quick program or magazine workout. While magazine workouts may be ok from time to time, you really have to step back and see where you are in your fitness journey and where want to go. Next, visualize yourself achieving where you want to be and then take that INTENSITY with you into the gym.
“The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins With a Single Step”
This is one of my favorite quotes that I always make an effort to share with others as well as strive to live my life by! Spoken by the ancient Chinese Philosopher Lao-Tzu, it is still very relevant today! Often times we see things as too great or out of reach and that is exactly what they are and will be when focused on as a whole, but when you break them down into smaller steps, you quickly come to realize that before you know it, you climbed a Mountain!
I recently read a little rant by a guy named Christian Thibaudeau about why he doesn’t care for research in strength & conditioning. The jist of the rant was that we shouldn’t wait for research to prove what we already know is working, and that experience is the best way to know what works.
