Eat clean and lean, become a perimeter grocery store shopper. You are what you EatIn order to develop, maintain and create a lean physique you must eat clean and lean.

 

When entering the grocery store or your local market focus on pursuing the perimeter of the store.  You might be asking, “Why should my focus be the perimeter Nicholas.”  Well, the outside walls of the grocery store contain the essential components of what you need to consume in order to achieve a lean well defined physique.  The bottom line is that training hard and eating whatever you desire will take you nowhere.  It is what you consume on a daily basis that changes the structure of how you look and feel.

Back to Basics

Coming off my overall victory at the Orange County Muscle Classic the10.18.07 question asked most of me has been what my “contest diet” was like. So I’m going to make my first blog about that very subject or rather the evolution, or should I say de-evolution, of my “contest diet” through my 3 ½ years of competing.

Ripped Quick Tip

When looking to pack on size or increase gains, little to no cardio is actually more beneficial since you will not be burning off extra calories. You’ll want to take in more calories than usual in order to see results. As long as your calories are from healthy food choices you can still maintain a good amount of lean mass.

My training has been going well since I’ve been back in Australia. At a minimum I’ve maintained the size I put on in the states and friends have started to note that certain weak body parts are growing bigger. I have however had a few set-backs or obstacles if you will, which I am overcoming at present. Of course a week and a half ago I suffered a calf strain while doing seated calf raises (and it has been healing well). Yesterday I was unlucky again.
