Miss Nutrition sponsored athlete Anne-Marie Lasserre set venture a few short weeks back to compete in her first IFBB Pro show after many years of competing in another federation and doing shows all over Europe. It seems as thought the physique class which was introduced a few years back was made for Anne-Marie, and they go for a more muscular and slightly harder look than the figure class.
Australian IFBB Figure Pro Ellena Reidie was diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome in June, 2012, after suffering with fatigue symptoms for many years prior. Ellena was reluctant to come forward and make this news public, as she was unsure what the response might be. She eventually did come forward in October and broke the news through Rx Muscle Australia's "Aussie Muscle Radio" (CLICK HERE to listen to Interview) and her Activewear Online blog.
Today I received some very sad news from multiple sources regarding former IFBB professional bodybuilder Mat Duvall, who apparently was found dead in his bathroom. Matt was only 40 years old. At this point, the cause of his death is a mystery but, as the details come in, we’ll keep the site updated.
Official Competitor List IFBB Pro Grand Prix Men, Figure and Bikini. As of 17th Feb, maybe be subject to change or have competitors added. Each class will also include the IFBB Pro Qualifier winner.
It seems fans of sports worldwide love to sort out and find up and comers, and this is certainly no exception in the bodybuilding realm. Benny Townson is one we've recognised as having some serious potential!
Like him or not Phil Heath, “The Gift,” must be on a mental high right now and deservedly so. Phil has quickly climbed the mountain of success in bodybuilding that few have even approached, and he has done so in an unprecedented fashion. "The Gift" did what many felt impossible at the time by defeating the Goliath of Jay Cutler in a similar fashion to the way Jay did Ronnie in 2006. As someone in his position how could you not feel good about yourself and confident in your status given the circumstances it took to get there, and the fact that you were able to achieved it, it in this case a task only 12 other men have accomplished.
We have seen some great rivalries in sport over the years. Boston Red Sox v. New York Yankees; Duke v. North Carolina; Celtics v. Lakers; Ali v. Frazier; Packers v. Bears; the list goes on and on. In bodybuilding it’s really hard to say that there’s been a rivalry. Arnold, Haney, and Yates certainly didn’t sweat any competitors. And perhaps only in Jay Cutler’s mind was he a real adversary to Ronnie Coleman during The Big Nasty’s reign as #1.
Australian Bodybuilding fans are sometimes a little let down or disappointed by the lack of Australian's that are willing to compete in the Australian Pro Grand Prix which is now the 3rd longest run IFBB Pro Show in the world only behind the Olympia & Arnold Classic contests. I'm excited to say Australian fans won't be disappointed this year with 3 top Australians planning to compete after making it publicly known through either Facebook or training videos.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Dexter Jackson will try to win his record-tying fourth Arnold Classic title when he leads a field of 13 competitors at the 25th Anniversary Arnold Classic at the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival.
Jackson, who will compete in Columbus for the 14th time, won the Arnold Classic in 2005, 2006 and 2008. A win in 2013 would tie Jackson with the popular Flex Wheeler, who won the Arnold Classic in 1993, 1997, 1998 and 2000. Cedric McMillan, making his Arnold Classic debut; Ben Pakulski, fourth in 2012; Toney Freeman, fifth in the 2012 Arnold Classic Europe; Johnnie Jackson and Ronny Rockel are expected to challenge.
Part of my vision for Rx Muscle, as Editor-In-Chief, is to expand the Chemical Enhancement portion of the site. Starting in December you will see new groundbreaking articles, a lab testing forum, and much more. With the expansion comes new leadership, and that leadership will come in the form of John Conner (AKA HeavyIron).
If you haven’t heard or seen the handle, HeavyIron, then you probably are new to this bodybuilding thing... Or you’re natural! John started posting on the message boards looking to communicate with like minded individuals, and over the past few years he has become one of the most widely respected chemical enhancement experts. I also have the good fortune of working with John at IronMagLabs, so I know that when he sets his mind to something, there is no stopping him. When I spoke to John about the position, he immediately had ideas on how to make the site better and what he’d like to bring to the revamped site. Along with writing articles himself, he is forming a team of individuals to bring the members the newest and most cutting edge information. John’s plans extend to the forum, and not only the content and discussion there, but also the moderation. He favors a looser style of moderation and more edgy discussion, and we plan to leave that completely up to John’s discretion.
With John at the helm, it is our goal to not only have Rx Muscle the premier site for contest coverage, but also the premier site for Chemical Enhancement.
Big bold news for the website that touts itself as "The Truth in Bodybuilding". Rx Muscle mainstay Aaron Singerman has been promoted to the position of Editor-in-Chief of the rxmuscle.com website. Singerman, who started out co-hosting a radio show called Off-Topic back in 2009, climbed and clawed his way through the Rx Muscle ranks.
