Spotlight On: Sheri Koepsel

Spotlight On: Sheri Koepsel

Category you compete in: figure 1

Date of birth: 7/31

Hometown: Milwaukee, WI.

Career: personal trainer/fitness model

What is your favorite contest prep recipe? The only thing I ate throughout contest prep was cod/tilapia...w/ asparagus/broccoli/or spinach!! LOL I will def need some new ideas this next time around!!!

What part of your physique are you currently working on? LEGS! LEGS! LEGS!! They are so stubborn!!! I did EVERYTHING to try and whip mine into contest shape and I still think they looked THICK on stage!! Next show, these wheels will ROCK!

Name one piece of nutrition/fitness advice that has stuck with you: The best tip I have GOTTEN and ALWAYS give people is ALWAYS HAVE IMPECCABLE POSTURE. It helps your body LOOK better, it helps your FORM while your working out--everything!!

If you could compete in one other event (FBB, physique, figure, fitness, bikini) which would it be and why?: Probably physique! I think it’s STRONG and muscular without being too masculine (for ME). Plus, I’d be following in my “idol” (Dana Linn Bailey’s) footsteps!!

Why NPC: NPC is an amazing group of athletes and I am so proud to be part of it!!

What do you like best about competing? Meeting all the amazing, focused, driven people involved--other competitors AND the people behind the scenes!! Everyone involved in competitions and fitness are so MOTIVATING to me! My 1st competition was one of the best experiences of my life and it was worth all of the pain and suffering I went through during prep!!

What are your goals for the future? To WIN my next 2 shows...to own my own personal training studio, and to model for all the top fitness mags!!.....and maybe get some endorsement deals with my favorite supplement companies (like Species, ON, BSN, etc!!)

2Competition history: 2nd place at BADGER STATE- Oct 22, 2011

Next competition: I have been encouraged by my competition “coach”, Stacey Tomasini to take on the Fox Cities in April then Nat’l's in Pittsburgh this July!!

Hobbies: reading, modeling, writing, dancing, watching baseball, chillin w/ my homies, laughing, movies, and REALITY TV!! haha...and OBVIOUSLY, working out.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned over the years when it comes to competing? DON’T CHEAT ON YOUR DIET...every little bite counts...

What is your favorite contest prep supplement? BCAA’s, and I probably wouldn’t have made it through my grueling workouts without my ROXYLEAN.
