If you could change into a superhero for a day who would you be and why? Wonder Woman obviously!!! Who wouldn’t want to look like her and be that strong and powerful?!?

What made you begin dedicating your lifestyle to this sport? When I was 21, I was bored with my life and felt like I needed to set new goals for myself. I’ve always had a passion for working out and after learning about the Bikini Division, I knew it was what I wanted to do.

What approach do you take to dieting...carb cycle..keto? When prepping for shows, carb cycling is what works best for me. I tend to lean out very quick, and I always stay about 2 weeks out from my “stage body”. This is a lifestyle for me, so even after I have cheat meals, I’m right back to clean eating and normal training the next day. I’ve never gained bad weight in the off-season, I’m always progressing and trying to improve.

What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about competing? I think that the name “Bikini” gives people the biggest misconception. It’s hard to explain what it means to be an IFBB Bikini Pro to someone that has never seen a show. They automatically assume it’s a glorified hot body contest. When in reality, they would be shocked if they saw how much diet and training goes into competing in Bikini.

What is your most embarassing childhood memory? Well, the one thing that comes to mind was actually when I was in High School, so I wasn’t exactly a child…but I was only 16 or 17. I was a cheerleader, and during one of the football games we were setting up to do one of our fairly easy stunts. It was a timeout, so literally all eyes were on us, including my football player boyfriend. I was the “flyer”, so my bases lifted me up and almost immediately I came straight back down….head first!! I landed flat on the track like a pancake in front of everyone. Luckily I wasn’t injured, but the entire crowd gasped and the look on everyone’s face was enough for me to be completely mortified. I was so embarrassed!

B4 2What is the biggest lesson you have learned about YOURSELF during your contest prep? I have learned so much about myself since I’ve started competing. The discipline we have goes without saying. Never in a million years did I think I would give up mac n cheese and enjoy eating chicken and asparagus everyday for weeks on end. There are times when contest prep is really tough, and I feel like I’m missing out on something, but at the end of the day…I’ve never been happier in my life! I’ve always considered myself a perfectionist, but during prep, I’ve learned that I can be too hard on myself at times. I have to take a step back and enjoy the process.

Who do you look up and admire and why? I am such a fan of Ava Cowan. I have looked up to her since day one. She’s made a name for herself and a career out of this sport before she ever won a pro show.
