Track Everything for Success

One thing I have done since I got seriousTimbecca edit2 about achieving my goals was to track everything. When I say everything I am talking about your calories, training, and your progress. If you are not tracking those 3 things then you are not serious about reaching your goals. It is impossible to see the improvements you are making or to gauge your progress. It is also very difficult to improve if you can’t remember what you did last week in the gym. Let’s break down the benefits and reasons for tracking.

Calories

-To grow or lean up you must have an idea where your calories are at and you macro ratios. In order to make changes to improve you need to know what you are doing on a daily basis. Just guessing won’t cut it. Too large of a calorie change will cause you to lose muscle while dieting or gain too much fat while bulking. No longer are the days of writing everything down in a journal. You can now use apps from your smart phone to log in food or even scan the bar code!

Training

-If you are training hard and pushing yourself every week you need to outdo yourself every week to maximize those gains and progress. Unless you have a photographic memory it’s going to be very difficult to remember every set and rep you are doing. Logging it down will insure you are increasing weight or reps every week, even if it is just a pound or a rep.

Progress

-Taking your measurements and weight is important to track your improvements. I don’t worry about the number on the scale too much, but it does help with the tracking. Take pictures every week or every other week depending on your goals. A picture is worth a 1000 words. I make my competitors track their progress and take pictures weekly. You will want them later to look back at anyway!!

Track these 3 things and I guarantee your progress will skyrocket.
