“Either your dream overcomes your fear or you fear overcomes your dream.”
It’s been 12 years since I started this fitness quest for my “dream”. 4380 days of lugging around a cooler, everywhere I went .Roughly 1460 leg days of squatting till I fell over and got sick. A long, hard, unpaved road full of full of ups and downs, speed bumps, forks, and many twists and turns. But, at last I am here! I have made it! Beat the odds…and the best part is, this is just the beginning!!!
I wanted to share with all of you a few techniques I use to stay motivated...
Many have heard the story of the seasoned Fisherman who took his son out one day to fish for crabs; as they were placing crabs in the bucket the young boy asked his father “why don’t we have a lid on the bucket, the crabs will all escape?” The father replied, “you see son, as long as there is more than one crab in the bucket, if one tries to escape, the others will grab a hold and pull it back down.”...
I recently had the opportunity to chat with newly crowned IFBB Men’s Physique Pro Ryan Hughes and after just a few minutes into our discussion it was quite obvious that he is a True Champion! Sure he just came off of an impressive win in the exciting new Men’s Physique Division, but there is MUCH more to being a True Champion than just the actual winning of an event and that is exactly why Ryan is a True Champion, for the things you don’t see…
While chatting with Ryan I kept having this weird feeling of Déjà Vu; like he and I had talked before, like I had experienced what he was saying, like it had already happened! When we got off the phone and I went through the notes that I had jotted down, it hit me...
How to stay fit & healthy during air travel!
I truly believe I’m qualified to offer some useful tips to you since besides being a fitness model (with over 20 covers to include Men’s Health) I’m also an airline pilot. I’m a Captain for JetBlue Airways and have been flying commercially for almost 10 years and was a navy pilot prior to that. Okay so enough about me, but I figured it was necessary to establish my background to validate my experience with staying fit while traveling...

I just returned from competing at the Jr USAs with a top 5 finish versus one of the most stacked fields of the competition season. Finishing in the top 5 let us all know that we belong in this category but as true competitors we all strive to finish first. So naturally it is disappointing when we fall short of that goal. We were all on the cusp of turning pro but unfortunately for many of us that was not our night...
No matter what endeavor you take upon in your Life there is a phenomenon known as synergy; to put it briefly, this is when the sum of your overall effort is greater than the collective parts. Nothing could be truer of this than having a solid foundation and one of the first and last foundations we will always have is family…
Good day all,
So the body is back feeling 100% this week which I am very happy to say. I feel so much better mentally when physically I have no troubles.
I noticed last week that my weight has not changed at all. I was hoping to loose at least a few pounds from cleaning up my eating and switching my workout style from the heavy lifting to circuit training along with cardio. Fortunately I’ve notice a slight change in my physique (body fat probably decreasing) but my weight is still 204lbs. My goal is to be around 185 give or take a few pounds by the time of the show.
