Meet MP Competitor Emmanuel Omoniyi

With Emmanuel Omoniyius today is Emmanuel  Omoniyi.  Congrats on some great showings on the stage!  What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?

I have been doing a lot of weight training for years now, however due to my lean body type (ectomorph). I could not see myself competing in the NPC until Men's Physique was introduced.

Can you tell us a little about the show in which you most recently competed?

My last show was Eastern's 2012 in Queen's College in New York City. I managed to place 11th out of 34 outstanding competitors.

After watching a friend compete in the Branch Warren Classic last July, my son asked me if I was too scared to compete.

Meet IFBB Pro Cory Lagasse

With Cory Lagasse croppedus today is MP IFBB PRO Cory Lagasse.  Congrats on your success to date!  What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?

I needed a challenge. I wanted something to motivate me and push me harder with my training.

Can you tell us a little about the show in which you most recently competed?

The last show I competed in was the 2012 Houston Pro. It was the worst finish I’ve had in my Physique career. It was also my IFBB Pro debut.  I was being compared to some of the best physiques in the business and mainly decided to compete because it was the last pro show of the year. I really wanted to see how I compared against some of the other big names in the business before I went into the offseason...

Meet MP Competitor Mateo Aguirre

WithMateoAguirre3 us today is MP Competitor Mateo Aguirre.  Congrats on a great showing!  What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?

I finally found the courage in the summer of 2011 to pull the trigger and prep for my first bodybuilding competition for the fall of 2012.  Everything was going according to plan but 3 weeks before the Adela Classic; I was encouraged by my coach to give the Physique division a shot before I got too lean and to give me an idea and “taste” of what it would be like to prep and step on stage. Well, I liked that taste so much that I ended up doing 6 shows in about 4 months and pretty much put bodybuilding prep on the back burner- for now. My Auspicious Journey has just begun.

Meet MP Competitor Chris "Protein" Leach

With Chris Leach 1us today is Chris “Protein” Leach. Congrats on a great showing! What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?
Before I got into Men’s Physique I had been weight lifting for a long time mainly just as a way to stay fit and healthy and to help me perform better in rugby, which I played throughout college. I eventually had to quit rugby due to class schedule conflicts, but I still had the drive to compete. About the time I was wondering what I should do with my athletic background and competitive drive, my girlfriend decided she wanted to compete in an NPC bikini competition. While checking out the bikini competitions online, we discovered the Men’s Physique category. It looked like a lot of fun to me, so I told her I would do the Men’s Physique division at the same show she did her bikini competition. I ended up doing two back to back shows, the NPC Texas State Naturals and the NPC Lackland Classic. I met a lot of great people at both of the shows, learned a ton, and really enjoyed competing!

Meet MP Competitor Rodney Razor

With 1754572 - Copyus is Rodney Razor. Congrats on a great showing earlier this year! What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?
Thank you. As a trainer and gym manager I always wanted to compete to put all my fitness knowledge I had learned over the years to the test on my own body. I always got tons of compliments on my physique everywhere I went. I wanted to see where my physique ranking amongst the best out there though. At the time, which was at the beginning year, I had never even heard of Men’s Physique and after talking with friend and Pro Bodybuilder Ed Nunn and a few others, I set my mind on bodybuilding. In the back of my mind I didn’t really want to get that big but I thought that was the only way I could compete. Still hesitant, I continued to look online for other options. I stumbled across RX Muscle and notice there were guys on there in board shorts winning and the Category was call Men’s Physique. I was intrigued. Instantly I felt this was my calling. It was fairly new and after looking at pictures of the guys competing I felt I belonged. I then went on the search to find my first NPC show to compete in. Once I discovered there was a local competition called The GNC Classic, it was time to put the knowledge and hard work to the test.

Meet MP Competitor Jacques "Sporty" Lewis

With NPC NATIONALS PIC 1us today is Jacques "Sporty" Lewis. Congrats on a great showing! What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?
Over the years developing a career as a fashion model but with a passion for fitness, learning about the new Men`s Physique division couldn’t have come at a better time. I truly like that fact that it`s catered to the main stream fitness model look. By being so intrigued by the new division I immediately buckled down on workouts and nutrition in order to become a fierce competitor against the best out there.

Meet MP Competitor Dave Kantrowitz

With us today is National Level MP Competitor Dave Kantrowitz.  Congrats 2012EastCoast 0169on a great showing! What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?
I actually started off as a natural bodybuilder, but I was never able to put on the true mass necessary to compete at a high level. After taking about two years off to concentrate on training and building my body, the NPC changed the game entirely by introducing the new division. I knew that this was where I belonged and after my first competition in August of this year, I was instantly hooked and couldn’t wait to get back on stage as soon as possible.

Can you tell us a little about the show in which you most recently competed?
This year marked my first year as a MP competitor. I started in August and competed in 6 shows. My season ended this year on the biggest stage of them all, the NPC Nationals in Atlanta, GA. It was an unreal experience to be surrounded by the best of the best and be able to meet and share the stage with current and soon-to-be IFBB Pro’s.
