With us today is Jacques "Sporty" Lewis. Congrats on a great showing! What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?
Over the years developing a career as a fashion model but with a passion for fitness, learning about the new Men`s Physique division couldn’t have come at a better time. I truly like that fact that it`s catered to the main stream fitness model look. By being so intrigued by the new division I immediately buckled down on workouts and nutrition in order to become a fierce competitor against the best out there.
Can you tell us a little about the show in which you most recently competed?
I recently just competed in NPC Nationals in Atlanta ,GA. Nationals was actually my second show I`ve had the opportunity to compete in. The good news is that I did get first call outs and placed 5th in my class. But most importantly the lesson learned by not winning my pro card was worth so much more in the nurturing of my future in becoming one of the best in the division. It truly was one of the best experiences I`ve had thus far in the midst of becoming a new NPC competitor.
How did you feel after pre-judging?
I was very excited to have been chosen for first call outs. You just never know until finals on how the judges will place you until they call your name and that is what keeps me with butterflies and sweaty palms lol..
How did you feel about the final results of the show?
Overall I was still happy with my 5th place being that this was only my 2nd show I`ve ever competed in. I myself and all the other competitors work very hard year round in order to stand among the best, so everyone who placed and earned their pro card was truly well deserved.
What are your thoughts on the Men's Physique Division and what it may be able to do for your career?
The Men`s Physique division is rising very quickly . The potential of what it can become is really limitless. This division can really open many doors for a person seeking a career as a fitness model, magazines etc.
