Big Keith Williams Dials It In 3 Weeks Out

Keith Williams

Keith Williams is on a Mission

Last winter marked one of the coldest seasons in history in Minnesota.  For days on end, the thermometer never crawled above freezing.  While the mercury plunged, Keith Willliams was planning his next step.  Williams was working out how he was going to bust out of the pack and make a statement on the stage in 2014.  So before the snow shovellers were out clearing the steps and sidewalks of Minneapolis, BKW was at the gym planning. Planning to make some big waves in the IFBB.

In 2012, Williams became a professional bodybuilder after winning the masters division at the Team Universe show and went on to compete in three pro shows.  His rookie season was not as stellar as he had hoped.  The highest he placed was ninth at the Nordic Pro Championships.  In 2013, Williams had a solid, but not standout season, where he scored three eighth place spots, one of which was at a highly competitive New York Pro won by Big Rami, followed by Victor Martinez and Juan Morel.

Consistancy isn't always a good thing

IMG 2340Keith was consistent in 2013. Too bad it was consistency of placing in the middle of the pack.  Placing in the middle of the pack in what he calls the “second tier” of professional bodybuilders is not what the Minnesota Mass Monster had in mind.  He was going to make changes and in 2014 he went hot out of the starting gate and into the Orlando Europa.  Backstage, Keith got to chatting with Shawn Rhoden who told Keith that he was probably the most conditioned bodybuilder at that show  and that he had a good chance of taking home the crown.  But unfortunately for Keith, contests are not always won by the most conditioned athlete and Shawn Rhoden was not a judge.  When the chips fell here he probably would have been happy to take an eighth place spot. Instead, Keith took tenth place… far behind winner Justin Compton.

Keith was shocked.  He felt he had made huge strides in adding size of his legs and trimming his waistline.  Many around him were saying he was bringing the best package for BKW ever.  Better than at the New York Pro a year before. But Keith Williams is not the kind of guy who lets a bad placing get him down. It was back to the drawing board in the Northern Suburbs of Minneapolis.  And back to the weights.

Looking forward

IMG 2332Now Keith has his sights set on the IFBB Wings of Strength Chicago Pro show July 4th - 5th.   He says he is training smarter and performing three leg workouts a week to bring up his wheels.  He says its time.  Time for Big Keith Williams to come out on top.  “I’m getting lots of great feedback from the fans” he said. “But I’m still waiting for the judges to reward me.”

He says his extra leg work has helped his thighs to grow an inch and a half since the Orlando show.   Today, he weighed in at 263 lbs and expects to be around 255 lbs on stage.  Check out his progress photos now at three and a half weeks out.  Is Keith on track?  We will find out in Chicago when RxMuscle follows the 2014 Wings of Strength.  So forget our Fourth of July hot dogs and BBQ.  Log into RxMuscle for all the bodybuilding action you can handle!
