Spotlight On NPC Bikini Competitor: Anna Bielkheden

Spotlight On NPC Bikini Competitor: Anna Bielkheden

Category you compete in: Bikiniphoto-30Date of birth: 1982-09-14
Hometown: Los Angeles
Career: Barry's Bootcamp Franchisee

What is your favorite childhood memory?
It would have to be when we got our first dog, a German Shepard.  I remember the excitement of preparing the doggie bed and buying food at the pet store, and how happy me and my brother were bringing our little friend home in the back of the car. The dog threw up on my brothers foot though, and subsequently he threw up as well lol….but overall, it was a great day.

Name a song that motivates you.
I always have a really hard time picking one song or artist when people ask me - it really depends on what resonates with my emotional stance at the moment. Generally, anything that has really high energy, positive tunes and beats gets me going. The words of the song are not that important, it's more about the music itself. Sometimes I even find the singing annoying, at least if it's a techno or house piece - I'm a sucker for hardcore club music. It's all I listen to in the gym - put on rap and I'll lose all my motivation. I need fast beats and lots of bass!!!

What is your biggest gym pet peeve?
I think I have a few people with me on this one:
People curling in the squat rack!!!
Also, I hate it when people occphoto-32upy a machine longer than necessary, when others are obviously waiting. I know I was only to pick one thing….but I can't help but mention: Random guys coming up asking to alternate sets with me when I'm only doing 3 sets. No, I don't want to mix sweat with you and chat in the interim. LOL - I'm always polite and nice, but in the gym I like to get in my zone.

How do you like to reward yourself?
An all night race on a favorite tv-series. I love hanging out in the couch watching a really great show that I'm completely into, episode after episode until they all run out. Can you say Sons of Anarchy…?

If you could change one things about the world what would it be?
Miscommunication. I believe so much misery stems from a misunderstanding of each others point of view. I think empathy and communication is key to any successful relation whether it be in your marriage or in politics.

What do you do right before you step onstage?
Call my husband! :) He's my biggest supporter. Well, he and my 6-year old son Jordan.

Nook, Book or Kindle?
Book!! I am a total bookworm and I absolutely adore the feeling that comes with a new book. When I say new it can be an old book I got from Amazon, or a fresh issue never touched before. They all have their own charm and I love the smell, texture, look of all of them. I always buy the real thing unless I get an impulse to read something NOW, usually late at night - then I'll download a book for my iPad.

Competition history: Excalibur 2011&2012, Bikini class C

Next competition: Still undecided, but sometime this spring for sure. Stay tuned!! Whatever it will be, I intend to bring a kick ass package and awesome stage presence.

If someone followed you for the day what would they be most surprised about?
That I speak Swedish!

What is your preferred tanning product and why?
Jan Tana for competition tanning, their color is juphoto-36st the best.

Favorite Quote:
"If you have the ability to create dreams, you have the ability to achieve them."

Who would you like to thank?
First of all my awesome Team Edge coaches Ingrid Romero and Joe Discuillo!! They are relarge teamedgelogoally so considerate, personable and know what they are doing - super happy to be apart of such a great team!! And all the Edge girls are really supportive of each other, which is awesome.

Secondly, I want to thank my amazing husband who has been a vital part in my development throughout the 8 years we've been together. Couldn't ask for a better, more loving man.
And lastly, my parents, my siblings and all the friends and people who constantly encourage me to go after my dreams and provide positive energy daily.
