I have said it before and still believe now is the time not to worry about winning the trophy; however, now is the time to define the trophy. I'm happy to say that Adam Lamb, recent winner at one of these early competitions, feels the same way. He chalked up a win and is fired up about being part of this new movement!
Many are still curious as to what kind of physique is currenlty winning so here is a pic of Adam at his 1st Place Finish in the most recent Men's Physique competition.
What are your thoughts on the Men's Physique Division? This division is an amazing opportunity for guys that workout, stay in shape and love to compete. Not everyone has the genetics that some of the top bodybuilders do , but still love the sport and the chance to compete and do great. This is a major win for the NPC and men aspiring athletes
Age: 31
Hometown: Detroit Mi
Current city: Wolverine Lake MI
Years training: 12
Occupation: Portfolio Manager
Favorite type of training: I do mainly all volume training. Rest in between sets is very minimal. I believe in have a mind muscle connection and exhausting the muscle group being trained
Favorite body part to train: legs
Favorite exercise: leg press high rep volume sets
Rep range: I usually don’t count reps, but between 12 and 20
Number of sets: again this varies 4-8 depending on how my body responds to a particular exercise
Typical workout duration: 5 days a week
Training split: M: chest biceps Tu: Legs Wed: off/cardio/abs Th: shoulders and triceps Fri: off/cardio/ abs Sat: Back Sun: off ( split varies based on contest prep)
Typical daily eating plan: I typical eat 5-6 meals a day, it may change from day to day or week to week. I eat a lot of grilled chicken breast and a few cups of rice trough out the day. I add things here and there depending on what we feel my body needs. (there is a science behind this stuff)
Favorite supplement: Fast acting protein powers and N.O. products are a must in my daily routine!
What peaked your interest in training? I liked the way bodybuilders looked and stood out, my biggest fear in life about myself is to be “average” working out gives every fortunate healthy individual the opportunity to create something great with themselves. When you change your body for a greater purpose you become a better person inside.
Who influences/influenced your training? As a kid I thought Jay Cutler was the MAN and still do today! A local trainer and IFBB Pro John Simmons influenced me to get in to the completion aspect of training and now my wife friends, co-works and especially my coach all continue to support me to be great.
Sports: I like to snowboard, wake board, skate board and things like that.
Special interests: My family is my most special interest, I have a 3 yr old son Michael and he is my inspiration daily to give everything in life my best! My wife is my best friend and spending time with them is about all I have time to do when im not working or training
