A Big Payday For Mayweather and Mosely Thanks to BALCO!

Boxers have been known to go into fights carrying a certain amount of baggage. For Saturday night's Pay-Per-View Welterweight Championship, that's an understatement. Floyd Mayweather Jr. and "Sugar" may-mosley45Shane Mosley are traveling to Vegas freighted heavier than Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs on an around-the-world tour.  Unfortunately, none of those bags are by being sewn by Lois Vuitton. Instead, the baggage should have "BALCO" stamped all over it.

Why? It seems like ever since Victor Conte released a two minute and 18 second YouTube video, about a month ago, of a deposition Mosley gave in the $12 million defamation suit Mosley filed against Conte in 2008, the matter just won't go away.  If you remember, Mosley testified at a grand jury that he was duped by Conte into taking the two now-infamous PEDs-- the "clear" and the "cream"-- as well as the red blood cell boosting drug erythropoietin (Epogen), before his winning rematch with Oscar De La Hoya in 2003. Conte's YouTube upload shows a very sketchy Mosely admitting he knew damn well what he was taking, and, in fact, was not tricked by Victor as he had claimed in his Grand Jury testimony.  ABC news uncovered the story and it has since spread like wildfire, consuming media outlets around the world with almost daily reports of the goings on between the Mosley and Mayweather camps.

Even though Mosley has agreed to Mayweather's demand that both fighters submit to more rigid drug testing by the U S Anti-Doping Agency, the fact that he is suing Victor Conte for defamation, while caught lying red handed, has sparked more attention for this fight than any other in history.

According to the associated Press, it's estimated that interest level in this fight, probably because of all the media attention Victor's video has caused, will result in 4 million Pay-Per-Views, making this fight bigger than Mosley's fight with De la Hoya, which, up until now, has been the most watched fight in history.

How do I know this record-breaking gate is Victor's fault?  Well, I really don't.  What I do know is that prior to Victor releasing the video, and ABC News sparking the fire storm of reporting on the fight, ticket sales were in the basement.  No one really cared about this fight.  Now it's slated to be the biggest grossing fight in history.   Forget about the take at the arena box office for a minute, 4 million PPV buys at $60.00 a pop is $240 Million! What's the split? 60/40?  Something like that? Even if Mosley loses, he's going to make far more than the $12 million he's suing Victor for.  So, where are the damages to Mosley?  Because of Victor, he's making more money, not less!

Mosley and his arrogant asshole attorney should shut the fuck up, drop the case, and cut in Victor a few bucks to compensate the hundreds of thousands he's spent defending himself from this lying sack of shit.

The really interesting thing is going to be if Mosley beats Mayweather.  If he does, the law suits will be flying and things will really get interesting.  If Mosley loses, he'll probably just fade into obscurity.  I'm not sure which I want to happen more.
