Kelly Ryan Eligible for Parole on 12-23-11!

Whether we like it or not, some things are inevitable.  While we all looked on in shock and horror as a murder case involving a top pro bodybuilder and top pro fitness competitor unfolded, knowing that Craig titusguiltyTitus was involved didn't surprise a single person.  The case against him included kidnapping, torture, murder and a ludicrous cover up attempt - complete with a burning Jaguar in the dessert and a cross-country chase that ended in a nail salon outside Boston -  only made it all the more fitting for ole Craiggers.  While the shock and horror was over the fact that the guilty party was one of us, the fact that it was Craig really didn't shock anyone.  Craig was always a scumbag, and over time he got really good at it. So good, in fact, that he won't be seeing the light of day until he's in his late 70s-- if he lives that long--  which, in prison, is highly doubtful.  The only way Craig Titus is getting out of prison is carried out feet first.  Good riddance, he really should have gotten the death penalty.

But what of his wife and accomplice in the crime, fitness pro Kelly Ryan?  Whether by force, or by guilt, or by some fleeting moment of lucid gallantry, or a combination of them all, Craig stood up in court and took full responsibility for the death of Melissa James, the couple's live-in assistant; thus exonerating Kelly. That was on a Friday.  During the weekend, he took the opportunity to tell reporters that he really didn't do it.  Then, back in court on Monday, after the judge read him the riot act, he conceded, once again, and, under the guise of letting his now former wife off the hook, took the blame.  In so doing, Craig seemed a bit troubled.  It was like he was dying to tell another story about what happened, but something kept his mouth shut.  Of all the times in the past Craig should have kept his mouth shut, but didn't, this was the time he might have done the right thing.

Exactly what role did Kelly play in the death of Melissa James? Apart from buying the lighter fluid and donating her car for the crematorium, we really don't know for sure.  There are only three people who do, and one of them is dead.  The fact that Craig did the one and only noble deed in his entire life has brought this subject to light again because Kelly has her first parole eligibility date set for 12.23.201. Exactly six years to the day that the couple was caught and taken into custody.  Will she be granted a parole hearing and get out of jail in time for Christmas? Probably not, but you never know.  Some people look at Kelly and see another victim of Craig's; a woman who was lead astray by one of the devil's own.  Others see her as a willing participant, if not the actual murderer. Will we ever know the truth?  Probably not.  But Kelly will get out.  If not next year, perhaps the year after... eventually, before too long she will be out of prison and able to tell her story.  The question is, will anyone buy it?
