IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING RESULTS AND AWARDS FOR WOMEN’S SESSIONS: The Olympic Games Ranking list as updated following the conclusion of the National Junior Championships, will determine the 15 women selected to compete in the Women’s Olympic Trials, scheduled to begin on Sunday, March 4 at 4:00 p.m. Qualification for the Olympic Trials shall be contingent on all eligibility requirements, as specified in the approved Olympic Games Selection Procedures, being met. The women selected for the Olympic Trials will only lift in the Trials session on Sunday and each athlete’s results will be dually recognized as National Championships results.
The results from women’s weight classes contested in the Trials portion of the competition will be combined with the results from the National Championships portion of the competition to determine final results for those particular body weight categories. For women’s weight classes contested in both the Nationals and Trials portions of the competition, medals will be presented at the conclusion of the Trials portion of the competition on Sunday evening. Medals for women’s body weight categories NOT being contested in the Trials portion of the competition will be presented after the appropriate session during the Nationals portion of the competition.
The 2012 National Weightlifting Championships and Women’s Olympic Trials will be the final qualifying event for the Women’s Olympic Team. Similarly, the women not selected for the Olympic Trials will only lift in the Nationals sessions on Saturday and Sunday, and each athlete's results will be dually recognized as National Championships results and Trials results, so that the totals made by those athletes will count toward Olympic Qualification as well as placement in the Nationals.
