Would you pNikki Lee Makara 5lease tell us a little about your workout schedule? 

Off season – 3-4 times a week of a.m. cardio 45-60 mins., circuit training and weight lifting 4-5 times a week for at least an hour and a half.  One day of hot sculpting yoga.

Competition Mode – 5-6 times a week of A.M. cardio 60 min

Plyo Metrics, Circuit Training, and Weight lifting 5 times a week

4-5 times a week of P.M. cardio for 60 min

 

What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep?

The last two weeks of no carbs  and lots of fish. 

 

If you could change one thing about this sport what would it be?

I would win a million dollars :)

 

What are some motivational strategies that have or currently work for you? othis sport what would it be?

I volunteer my time working with orphans and a few years ago I volunteered to work for an orphanage in South America. When I arrived the organization I worked for had a BBQ and the children at my table were most excited about the salad on their plate. What I discovered is that any sort of vegetable is considered a luxury in that part of the world. Any time I lack motivation I am reminded of those children and how a grateful they were for the simple salad I served them.

 

Tell us how you first discovered weight training.

My dad had a weight bench in our basement and I used to sneak into it when my dad wasn’t paying attention and lift the weights. I fell in love with the feeling of pushing myself right away. Plus I wanted nothing more as a child than to look like She Ra, the female version of He Man.

 

Which IFBB-pro bodybuilder would you take with you to a deserted tropical Island to live the rest of your life with?

Any IFBB bodybuilder will work so long as they know how to make delicious meals and will kill the giant bugs for me!!! I have been all over the world for my modeling and tropical islands are great but man those bugs are no friend of mine!

 

What are your favorite cheat snack / meal?

Cheat meal has to be pizza or my polish 94yr. old grandma’s periogies 

 

How did you come to the decision to enter your first compIMAGEZZ!-NikkiMakara 1638a[1]tition?

The best way to advance at any sport is to compete against others that have the same passion. I had been training for years but never stepped on stage and woke up one day and decided it was time to put my work on stage and kick some ass!!!

 

If you could switch your life with a famous person for one day – who would it be - and why?

Bill Gates and I would promptly transfer $100 million into my personal savings account.
