Last weekend, two giants in the Bodybuilding world were remembered for their incredible contributions to the Fitness industry. Robert Kennedy, the publisher and founder of Muscle Mag International, passed away exactly one year ago on April 13th, 2012. On Sunday, April 14th, 2013, a Memorial service was held in memory of Joe Weider, the publisher of the Weider empire. Joe passed away on March 23rd, 2013 at the age of 93.

25 Years Of The Arnold Classic

arnold-jimOn March 1st-3rd, 2013, promoters Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Lorimer will celebrate 25 years of their celebrated Arnold Classic event. Starting in 1989, Schwarzenegger and Lorimar began promoting one of the premier bodybuilding events in the spring of that year. After years of promoting the Mr. Olympia, Mr. Universe (World Bodybuilding Championships) and the Pro Mr. World events, among others, Arnold and Jim decided to start their very own contest named, of course, after the most popular name in the history of bodybuilding. The rest, as they say, is history.

Sergio - 1968 Mr. OIn Memorium - Sergio Oliva

The Bodybuilding world lost a legend on November 13th, 2012. Sergio Oliva, also known as “The Myth”, passed away at Saint Frances Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The official cause of death was a heart attack although Sergio had been in ill health over the last several years and had been on dialysis for kidney failure in the months leading up to his death.
