What is your favorite contest prep recipe?

During Contest prep, I actually keep my diet very simple. All natural ingredient, no bread, artificial sweeteners, dairy, etc. A trick I like to do though is make my oatmeal in the microwave then throw some unsweetened frozen berries in it and mix it up. The oatmeal will cool down and also thaw out my berries so i can enjoy it right away.

What is one piece of nutrition/fitness advice that has stuck with you?

Do not binge post show! As hard as it is not to, because you want to eat everything in sight, Binging post show not only makes you feel awful and bloat for days, but it can do some damage to your metabolism and actually mess up your off season. If you just eat a nice normal meal after show, then breakfast the next morning and a dinner that next night, you will feel better and actually end up enjoying more food without the excessive weight gain.

What part of your physique are you currently working on? Samantha Bormuth rear

Glute, glutes, glutes!! Trying to build as big of a booty as I can before stepping on stage in June for Jr. Nationals!

If you could compete in one other event (FBB, physique, figure, fitness, bikini) which would it be and why?

Definitely physique!! I would love to stand on stage and perform one of their routines. I think they are so graceful, fun, and beautiful. Plus, not having to wear heels would be a bonus!

Why the NPC?

A lot of my friends who got me started competed in the NPC. Now that I have to, I thoroughly enjoy it. Great shows, great people!

What do you like best about competing?

I love all of the amazing people that I meet at shows and all of the friendships I make. Some of my closest friends are ones I have met at competitions. It's nice having close friends who live the same lifestyle that you can laugh, cry, rejoice, and complain to. It makes it all so much easier.

What are your goals for the future?

I just want to continue working on my physique and start competing on the National level which I will be doing in June. I would love to get my Pro card, as all competitors do, so every year I will strive for that goal and just enjoy the process along the way.

Competition history:OAMG7517

2013 NPC Badger State 1st place
2014 NPC Natural Northern 5th place
2014 NPC MidWest Ironman 2nd place

Next competition:

2015 NPC Illinois State
2015 Jr. Nationals

What are your hobbies?

Besides working out at the gym, I love reading, hanging out with my Miniature Dachund, Maizie, and making roadtrips home to Ohio when I can to spend time with my family.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned over the years when it comes to competing?

It should be a hobby, not your entire life. It is a very stressful thing that can take a toll on all of your relationships, whether they are family, friends, or significant others. Always remember these people should come first, never sacrifice them for a competition, because you need that strong support system in your life, competition or not.

What is your favorite contest prep supplement?

Yohimburn. Its a topical fat burner I rub on my glutes and hammies that really make them look dynamite!

 Favorite Quote?

Don't ever let someone tell you that you can't do something. Not even me. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. When people can't do something themselves, they're gonna tell you that you can't do it. You want something, go get it. Period.- Will smith (The Pursuit of Happiness)
