Get "Crazy" for Maximum Gains

Astim1 most people know we must change our workouts up to keep our bodies progressing and seeing results. If we stick to the same program for too long our progress may diminish. I personally like to change my workouts up every 3 months or so as a rule of thumb.

As we go from a novice lifter to a more advanced, sometimes we need to do more than to just change the workouts up. Sometime I like to get crazy with the changes! When I say crazy what I mean is something extremely different from the norm.  So for example, I may hit my normal chest workout and then afterwards instead of calling it a day and going home like normal I would take it to “crazy!”

How do you take your workout to another level?  Personally, I may decide to do 10 sets of 10 reps with only 30 seconds rest in between with cable crossovers or barbell bench. That’s an extra 100 REPS with Minimal Rest.  This is not something I would do every week after a normal workout, but instead only on occasion for a few weeks. Another example would be finishing off your triceps workout with 300 reps of Tricep bar dips. Throwing an exercise like that in the mix will definitely shock the muscle and get you past those sticking points and plateaus!!

As always I look forward to your comments and questions.
