This 
weekend marked the second chance this year for NPC Men's Physique competitors to make the jump to the IFBB at the Jr. Nationals. The turnout was incredible for the MP division. It was only outdone in quantity by the number of ladies in the bikini division. These two divisons made up roughly half of the total number of competitors to take the stage. Whereas it took Men's Bodybuilding, Women's Bodybuilding, Women's Physique, Fitness and Figure to make up the other half.
Why would I go to the trouble of pointing this out? It's simple really. Often the validity of the Men's Physique Division and Women's Bikini division is questioned. I belive it is important to note how important these relatively new divisions are for the continued growth of our beloved "physique sports." The sheer number of competitors to step on stage and carry these shows makes their importance obvious. That said, the competition in the MP division is ever increasing and this show was no different. With tons and tons of MP muscle hitting the stage the judges job to decide who would walk away with pro cards was no easy feat.
Walking
away from this show with their pro cards were Yoshi Manley, T.J. Murray, Paul Batrony, Jorge Merino, Shareef Alikhan and Frank Griffin with T.J Murray taking the Overall.
