Above All… Be Happy

 


In muscle smiley faceour modern day society of go, go, go and more, more, more: we often get so caught up in always reaching for the next challenge.  We may often times forget that everything we have always needed to Be Happy, we have had all along! It is amazing how those of us that are constantly reaching can get so wrapped up in the process that we may forget that we have already accomplished so many things and that if we never take the time to enjoy our accomplishments and always look for what is next, we never will be truly satisfied!


While I am and always will be a HUGE proponent of S.M.A.R.T. Goal Setting, I also am a HUGE advocate of Self Praise and taking time to enjoy all of our accomplishments! You see, in Life we need to be two things for ourselves; our own best Constructive Critic (Goals) and also our own Number One Fan (Self Praise). Practicing these two ends of the spectrum will allow us to strive to achieve Our Dreams AND also be Proud of ourselves while staying grounded! If you asked most people you will hear that one of their Number One Goals is to “Be Happy.” While achieving things and accomplishing challenges may provide an Instant or Short-Term Happiness, we need to be mindful that the Overall Process (The Journey) is also adding to Our Long-Term Happiness! Many of the Happiest People that I know are also some of the Simplest People that I know. You see when it comes right down to it, it is ALWAYS Our Choice! Happiness is not derived from External Responses (this is the subjectivity of it all), but rather from Our Own Internal Responses to the External Situations! This is the exact reason why two people can have totally different feelings towards the very same situation and when it comes right down to it, wouldn’t you rather just Be Happy?

So DSC 4690 MKRTATXOIRwhile you are looking for your next Conquest or Mountain to climb, be mindful of all of the Mountains that you have already scaled! Do not let others determine your wealth, instead invest in yourself and the people around you. This is by far our most valuable resource!

How does this apply to Living The Fitness Lifestyle? Well… The answer is simple; The Fitness Lifestyle is simply an extension of ourselves and by just Being Happy with what we have already done, we are able to spread the Happiness to others! The REAL Secret to lasting Results and Change is in Enjoying The Process, the BEST Program is the one that we are going to do and we will only do things for so long if we don’t enjoy them! Above All… Be Happy :)
