Many of you will recognize the name GAT since the infamous Derek Anthony is their spokesperson. It's time to give them their due credit as a top supplement company with a full line of products. Charles Moser has been at the helm for a decade, recently changing the name of his company from German American Technologies to the snappier GAT.
When many bodybuilders and strength athletes think of GAT, JetFuel-- their fat-burner-- comes to mind. JetFuel has a well-deserved reputation in the fat-loss area, and many have used it as a pre-workout energizer. While JetFuel is no doubt an incredible product, there are some other pretty cool GAT supplements that deserve a place in your gym bag.
JetFuse NOX is the pre-workout piece of the muscle-building puzzle supplied by GAT. It's jammed with useful ingredients such as A-AKG, Arginine, Waxy Maize, Beta Alanine, BCAA's, L-Glutamine, Betaine, antioxidants and electrolytes. JetFuse contains no sugar, fiber, or empty carbs so there's nothing standing between you and a great pump. The directions say to consume two scoops in water immediately prior to hitting the iron.
"I use it before I train. My mixture is one scoop of JetFuse with one or two JetFuel, depending on my energy level. Usually it's one scoop JetFuse and one scoop JetFuel," Derek Anthony informed me.
I've found the taste of JetFuse NOX to be better than many pre-workout concoctions; of the four flavors, Blue Raspberry tickles my tongue the most. More importantly, I can feel the immediate pump, a serious swelling and impression of growth. I'm fully aware I'm not really growing in the gym, but my two scoops of JetFuse make me feel it would be ok to strip down to a skin-tight, sleeveless Under Armour layer and strut around the gym hitting an "imaginary lat spread."
Derek says not to use JetFuse during a workout. "Sometimes I take a serving or two of JetMass, our creatine blend, with my JetFuse pre-workout, too," he reported.
Protein is the building block of our bodies, and an important component in the product line of any supplement company. GAT produces Muscletein Ultra-7 Protein, a relatively new product in their line, and one Anthony is proud of.
"It has numerous proteins, which I feel is significant, making it last long as opposed to just taking whey, which doesn't stay in your system long. I like to take Muscletein in the morning and afternoon, after my workout, and always before bed. I was never a shake guy, but now I have 2 to 3 shakes a day and feel my body needs that extra kick of protein," he said.
Muscletein has these 7 protein components in their own combination, which GAT terms a "sustained release protein matrix." In the mix is Aminogen, a patented enzyme system, and papain, included to help your body uptake amino acids and improve nitrogen retention by muscle tissue. This is a full-service protein supplement, as it also includes glutamine peptides, BCAAs, MCTs, EFAs, and a fiber matrix. Each serving includes only 4 grams of sugar, 10 grams of fiber, 8 grams of carbs, 3 grams of fat, and 45 grams of protein.
Derek Anthony brags about how great Muscletin tastes, but he's not just shilling for his employer. I'm impressed with both the flavor and the sheer smoothness of the shakes coming out of my blender. Available in Rich Chocolate, Vanilla Crème and Strawberry Crème, I'm torn between Chocolate and Strawberry as my favorite.
JetFuel is the single product GAT has most been identified with in the past, and it remains their best-seller, and a staple in their line. Many casual polls on the boards find JetFuel the favorite fat-burner or energy provider of many bodybuilders, man and woman alike.
Anthony says Jetfuel "is great for many things. It's an appetite suppressant, so it's big with women. When I have sugar cravings, it really helps. And of course JetFuel is great for energy. If I take two servings I can train for hours, it's that good!"
So what's in JetFuel? Mostly the standard components, such as MCT oil, caffeine, guarana extract, green tea extract, synehrine HCL, yohimbine HCL, 5 HTP, a whole slew of other ingredients, and GAT's Cortisol Blocker Blend. Is the success of JetFuel due to any one thing in the list? Probably not. Are there special characteristics to the Cortisol Blocker Blend that other supplement companies don't know? Perhaps. More likely, it's the combinations and proportions of ingredients that make it work.
I know from personal experience, having used JetFuel on and off for two or three years, that the energy boost is real and long-lasting. How effective the supplement is as a fat-burner is as dependent upon your diet and exercise program as anything else; it's a supplement, not a booster rocket. But in the field of energy and fat-loss products, I feel JetFuel stands tall.
Charles Moser and GAT appear poised to begin a second decade in the supplement industry in a great position. They've added important products to their line, and are always associated with high quality. Derek Anthony has been a spokesperson for GAT since 2005.
"GAT is growing, their products are getting better by the day, and I'm proud to be a spokesperson for GAT," he told me proudly.
