Steve Weinberger just called to tell me there's an update to the IFBB Pro Card allotments at this year's Optimum Nutrition NPC Team Universe Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Championships and Met-RX National Fitness Championships. This year's event will be held on September 18-19, 2009 at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center, in the best damn city in the world (NYC).
The news of the day is the addition of 1 IFBB Pro Card for the new Master's Figure division. This brings the total number of pro cards at the contest up to an incredible record-breaking 33!
The complete breakdown of 33 pro cards looks like this:
FITNESS: 3 Height Classes, 2 pro cards per class = 6 pro cards
BIKINKI : 6 Height Classes, 2 cards per class = 12 pro cards
FIGURE: 6 Height classes, 2 cards per class = 12 pro cards
MASTERS FIGURE: 1 pro card for overall winner
MENS BODYBUILDING: 1 pro card for the overall winner
WOMEN'S BODYBUILDING: 1 pro card for the overall winner
