She’s the hot gothic looking bikini chick from the board. Even if you only periodically visit the boards, I’m betting you have already noticed the RxGirl #1 badass, Stephanie “Wicked” Mulé.
How did you find out about RxMuscle in the first place?
I was a member at another fitness board, where I occasionally interacted with TammyP. When Rx was launched, she recommended that I check it out. I registered that day and Rx has been my online "home" ever since.
What's up with all the ink and piercings? Whatcha got, and do they have any specific meaning to you?
Part rebel, I suppose? When I was younger, I had controlling people who influenced my life and wouldn't allow me to do things I wanted like dye my hair or get tattoos/piercings. I never intended to go wild with the body
modifications, but as soon as I no longer had to answer to anyone about my lifestyle choices, I became addicted in a sense... it just 'happened' and now I can't imagine not having my "accessories". I have 9 tattoos. My favorite is my snowflake half-sleeve on my left arm, which represents my love for winter. On the same arm, I also have a beaten heart that is torn and stitched. It represents the fact that I wear my heart on my sleeve and that I've been through alot... Its damaged, but not
broken.
Do you have plans for any new tatts in the forseeable future?
I do have ideas for more artwork, but nothing that I plan to get for a while. Bodybuilding is an expensive interest, so all my money goes towards food, supplements and competition costs these days.
Do you think they hurt you in terms of competing?
Once I forgot to hide my septum ring and the head judge brought it to my attention after pre-judging. When I looked back at the photos, I can see how it really was distracting. First, last and hopefully only time that will happen. As for my ink, I have never heard any negative feedback about it. In fact, most people tell me that it makes me stand out in a positive way.
How did you originally decide to compete?
I was dating a bodybuilder. After attending a show and seeing all the beautifully sculpted figure women, I decided that I wanted to keep training hard so that I could one day look like them. Later that year, the NPC announced the bikini division and I thought that would be a good place to start. My first show was in April 2009 and I was instantly hooked.
If you look at the girls currently competing as pros in bikini, who do you like the best? Look-wise? Personality wise?
I haven't met her yet, but Jamie Baird has been a favorite since the first year of pro bikini. All the articles I've read and interviews I've seen, she seems to radiate beauty and class from the inside out. Shelsea Montes seems like a bouncy little firecracker -- another one that I haven't met, but exudes confidence and looks like she's having a ball when she competes. On the national stage, I've competed with Access Bodybuilding's Cristina Vujnich, Ms. Bikini O - Nicole Nagrani and Natalie Abrhiem... All sweet girls! I'm also a huge fan of past and present athletes from other divisions, including Erin Stern, Gina Aliotti, Felicia Romero, Larissa Reis, Pauline Nordin, Cheryl Brown, my coach and friend Tammy Patnode, etc etc (I could go on and on, but I don't want to exclude too many names... there's so many ladies I admire!) On that note, I'm really looking forward to Pro Women's Physique next year!
If you had to have a night of passion with an Rx Admin, Mod, Forum Leader, or Staff member, who would it be and why? One male and one female!
Haha, who came up with this question? I know this isn't the exciting and scandalous answer everyone wants to read, but... nobody.
BORRRRING! Lol. If you have learned one lesson from being involved in the industry what would it be?
Be yourself, and don't be afraid to network! Attending local shows and socializing on Rx and facebook have granted me opportunities to work booths at tradeshows and contests for companies whose products I use and believe in. Its a fun way to stay involved, even when I'm not competing.
If a girl who wanted to compete in bikini asked you for advice, what would you tell her?
First, I would let her know that going through a contest prep can sometimes be a physically and emotionally challenging experience... but a very rewarding one. I would also advise her not to give up! You never know what your body and mind are capable of achieving until you put your heart and soul into it and see your goal through the ups and downs until the end. Next, I would suggest that she begin by researching coaches to find one that she feels comfortable working with (check the "Diet Guru of the Week" section of Rx for ideas!) As show time nears, I would refer her to some online retailers where she could purchase a suit and heels and youtube videos to familiarize herself with the posing practices in the NPC.
