As October rolls to a close it’s time for another RxMuscle Board Member of the Month. For the past few months Medium Extreme has been the man picking and writing this column, and doing an excellent job, I must say... But the big boss man, Dave Palumbo, decided since TECHNICALLY writing this column is MY job, I better be the one doing it.
At the RxMuscle forums, we are lucky to have a long list of members who could easily qualify for this monthly honor. Actually, there is a list of usual suspects I could have chosen from, but this month, instead I choose a relative new comer, Jewelisa. I had the good fortunate to meet Jewelisa (real name Lisa Zisa) in St. Louis after Jack and Ann Titone’s St. Louis Pro Show earlier on in the year. At the after party she and I even shared a (dirty) dance!
Q: What brought you to RxMuscle?
A: I joined Rx Muscle a few years back spent most of the time checking out contest pics of my fellow physique peers. Never really got to involved with the forums until recently. However, after having the chance to meet Dave, Aaron ( I believe we boogied down a bit at last years St. Louis Pro after show ) ) and saw the Rx muscle team in action, I started lurking more and more. Your videos are hysterical and I love seeing the winners interviewed ! Not to mention that show coverage is AWESOME .
I would tell the gals out there not to be afraid the boys on the RX forums they are harmless a tad naughty but harmless.
Q: Be honest, how was my dancing?
A: I thought your dancing had a certain Patrick Swayze flair to it. But then again I did have a couple of Martini's !
Q: What do you do for a living?
A: I am a certified personal trainer but in North Carolina the economy has dried up the cliental. I did however land a part time job at a busy hair salon which I am so freaking loving it ! Free hair care SERIOUSLY the women out there will totally understand the implications of this. I am still pinching myself, I will never leave this gig. Only downside I am getting blonder and blonder Jack Titone is gonna freak hahaha. My client just hired me to fill in for a gal on maternity leave doing secretarial work. Hoping that might become full time. I have good and bad days feeling sorry for myself and all. Then I get a big ole kick in the ass ! There are a heck of a lot more people out there in worse situations.
I also design and bedazzle figure suits. I love doing this I get in a creative zone and loose myself for a few hours. Definitely keeps idle hands OUT of the fridge. I made Ann's last two suits and what a thrill to see my suit on the Olympia stage ! Can't wait to do next years !
In NJ I owned an exotic bird store and was a veterinary tech.
Q: Birds! My mother is something of a bird fanatic. I call her the Bird Lady of Richmond Street. Personally, I find birds annoying. Anyway, if you were a bread of bird what would you be and why?
A: I would be an African Grey. I am shy ( at first ), and very particular who I let in. I do not have to be made up to feel beautiful. I’m a bit of a flirt, and loyal to the ones I love, smart yet naive.
Q: What brought you from Dirty Jersey to North Carolina?
A: My parents made the move after 9/11 they saw the towers fall and that was the push they needed to make the move. Then my daughter went to college there and met a nice southern boy. So I made the move to be close to them.
Q: North Carolina is one of the few places in the US I haven’t been to. What’s it like there?
A: It is very beautiful here and all, but I am not adjusting all that well. I will always be a Jersey girl and I miss my friends. I haven't made any real close girlfriends, thought I did but turn out I was wrong. Still removing that knife from my back!
Q: Does it have a big fitness community? Lot’s of competitors?
A: You have your regular gym dudes that workout but very few that take it to our level. I had one total stranger with his big ole fast food, beer drinking belly make a snide remark behind my back that I must be doing " something" to look like that . Mind you I was woofing down cold tilipia while he said it. Seriously flashed him a look: don't screw with a hungry , prepping , figure chick. Actually, I never saw him in the gym again hahaha!
Q: If you HAD to go out on a date with a member of the board (excluding myself, cause that wouldn't be fair), who would it be?
A: Oh lordy how about putting me on the spot. I have a feeling an evening with " The Big Sexy " would be entertaining to say the least.
Q: What IFBB Pro do you find most attractive? It can be a chick or a dude. Or if you can’t decide, pick one of each!
A: Hmmm I do think Oksana Grishina is just stunning to watch! But by the grace of god I found myself walking behind Toney Freeman and he was wearing those snug briefs ( that I think men's physique should wear) and oh my that man has a smokin’ booty ! Besides being a super nice guy!
Q: I’m a huge movie buff, and I think someone’s favorite movie can tell you a lot about the person. What’s your favorite movie?
A: LORD OF THE RINGS !! I even have a tattoo of my name in elvish!
Q: Whoa! Unusual favorite movie for a chick... Are you a sci-fi dork?
A: For some reason I can watch Behind Enemy Lines whenever it is on ? And Yes I like sci-fi ... Star Trek ( old ones ) X-files , vampires, lol !
Q: Where on your body is this elvish tattoo? Got any other ink?
A: If I told you I would have to kill you haha! Actually you can see it when I compete its on my right front hip real low. Got it in Vegas thats about as crazy as I got in Vegas sad I know!

Team Universe ( did not place ) very humbling to say the least but put a fire under my booty !

Q: What are your competitive goals?
A: Dave interviewed me after Masters. This year I want that IFBB Pro interview ! I have been through a lot haven't we all. I do not want to bore ya'll ( that's my new southern accent ) with the details. For me it will be not only be an acknowledgement of my hard work and improvements. Most importantly that it is never to late to fulfill a dream ! Jack always says " Age is a state of mind" Either way I am enjoying the ride ! I have met so many wonderful people in this sport.
