WWE Monday Raw was live from Atlanta's Phillips Arena this week
Good Ol JR - Jim Ross is back behind the mic!
The Show opened up with The King Of Kings Triple H talking about his match with the UnderTaker at WM.
He went on to say that for the first time ever, he was nervous for a match especially when the UT came down the ramp to the ring. And he's never been as tired or beat up as his was after the match. He went on to thank the UT and showed a lot of respect for the Deadman, but said if he returns...He will be waiting for him!
Great match last night! Trips carried the match too and took some huge bumps
After the break Micheal Cole comes out wearing his ridiculous amateur wrestling getup from the other night and proclaims himself "Mr WrestleMaina".
Cole then gets into it with Jerry Lawler and then goes on to challlenge The King to a rematch....A rematch from his match last week on Raw against Jack Swagger
Jerry Lawler vs. Jack Swagger
Due to interference by Cole, then Swagger's refusal to break the Ankle Lock he had on The King. The Ref called for a DQ against the All American American.
Winner - Lawler by DQ
Randy Orton & Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk & Cody Rhodes
Good Match with lots of high spots! Mysterio gives Rhodes a 619. Then Orton hits a staggered Rhodes with a quick RKO
Winner - Orton & Mysterio
Stone Cold Steve Austin then runs through a promo for Tough Enough with the cas of the show, but is interrupted by The Miz and Alex Riley. The Miz rants about his match and win last night at WM, and then starts ribbing SCSA about wrestling again. The Miz asks Austin if he's "Got one last run" left in him?, SCSA tells the Tough Enough cast to clear the ring and a inpromtu match starts with him and A-Ry. Austin with a stunner and A-Ry is down!
Could this be the start of a Miz/Austin fued?
Alberto Del Rio with Brodus Clay vs. Evan Bourne
No car for the Mexican JBL this week just a quick beat down into a cross arm breaker for the win
Winner - Alberto Del Rio
Vickie Guerrrero & Dolph Zigger vs. John Morrison & Trish Stratus
Its always great to see Trish in the ring (and out) JoMo with a Starship Pain on Ziggler for the pin
Winner - JoMo and & Trish
Sheamus & Daniel Bryan
Almost a squash match...Sheamus with the Brough Kick for the win
Winner- The United States Champion Sheamus
It's a shame the Sheamus/Bryan match got bumped from WM last night. Seems like poor time management cheated the fans out of what could have been a good match.
At the conclusion of the match, Sin Cara made his long awaited debut and did a couple of high impact spots on a bewildered Sheamus.
To close the show we had John Cena and The Rock have the hyped up confrontation in the ring. Some verbal sparring then ensued. The back and forth ended up with Cena challenging the Rock to a match......a match at WrestleMania 28 (A bit odd, a year out ?!?)
Cena and The Rock ended up fighting off a surprise attack from The Corre to end the show.
A quick 2 hours and quite a few surprises made for a better than average show.
Seeing how this Cena/Rock feud plays out, and seeing if they really will wait a year to face each other will be Interesting
Until Next Time
