Combination of Nutriefresh-fruits-vegetables-2419nts Kills Breast Cancer Cells

A team of researchers from LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans and the Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center have developed a combination of six nutrients that were able to kill 100% of breast cancer cells according to data published in The Journal of Cancer. The researchers combined bioavailable chemical nutrients derived from; curcumin, isoflavone from soybeans, Indo-3 carbinol from cruciferous vegetables, C-phycocyanin from spirulina, resveratrol, and querceitin to form the compound. Although each nutrient had been proven to be ineffective at cancer treatment on its own according to previous studies, the combination of ingredients was able to; suppress cell growth by over 80%, inhibit cancer cell migration, and trigger the process leading to cell death in 100% of the sample. Although further testing is needed, scientists are optimistic that the new treatment will provide an effective means of combating breast cancer in the future.

A new study published in the journal of Strength and Conditioning Research has found caffeine has the ability to enhance performance and reduce the amount of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) experienced post workout. For the study researchers took nine trained men classified as low caffeine consuming males and gave them either a caffeine supplement or a placebo one hour prior to exercise. Each participant was then asked to perform four sets of ten on a preacher curl bench, and then perform as many reps as possible on the fifth set. Researchers found that the men who took the caffeine supplement were able to perform more reps on the final set than the men in the placebo group. They also found that the men who received the caffeine supplement reported less overall DOMS in the following days.

Eating Nuts Reduces Ris336417 Nuts-Life20longerk of Death

According to a new study conducted by The Harvard School of Public Health individuals who consume nuts have a 20% reduced risk of dying from any cause over a thirty year period. The study, which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine, also examined the impact that nut consumption had on specific causes of death as well. According to the data those who consumed nuts had a 29% reduction in death from heart disease, and 11% reduction in death from cancer of any kind. Previous studies have indicated that nuts have the ability to reduce symptoms associated with diabetes, decrease inflammation, and have positive impacts on cholesterol levels as well. Researchers caution that the results of the study do not indicate cause and effect merely that for some regularly consuming nuts may have the ability to increase longevity.

Exercise Feels Harder When the Brtired-runnerain is Tired

There have been multiple studies that have showcased the benefits that exercise can have on cognitive function. Although long bouts of strenuous exercise can temporarily impair thinking, shorter intense bouts of exercise have been shown to improve blood flow in the brain. However, a new study conducted by The University of Burgundy in France has found that mental fatigue can cause exercise to feel more taxing on the body. For the study researchers asked ten healthy individuals to perform leg extensions on separate occasions and measured the amount of contractile forced generated by attaching electrodes to the muscle. One two separate occasion’s participants were asked to engage is strenuous mental activities 90 minutes prior to exercise. The data showed that the men tired 13% faster when they were mentally fatigued, however, the maximum amount of contractile force generated did not decrease. Researchers concluded that intense “mental exercise” does have a direct impact on our physical performance.

Omega-fight cancer one day at a time greeting card-r93d270ab26f84e9da6b3b57c96becaeb xvuat 8byvr 5123 Fats Fight Multi-Drug Resistant Cancer

A study published in the journal Molecular Cancer has found that omega-3 fatty acids have the ability to help the body better respond to treatment in multi-drug resistant cancer. Drug resistant cancers are cancers that have evolved in the body the block the effects of chemotherapy medications used to combat the disease by activating proteins in cancerous cells that will not allow medications to pass through the cell membranes. Researchers found that omega-3 fatty acids enabled cell membranes to become more viscous thus allowing previously drug resistant cells to begin responding to treatment once again.
