I have noticed a HUGE difference when I apply lip liner to the entire lip, so I highly recommend that you do this as well. Your lipstick will last longer if you do this. Use a berry or soft red shade for your lip liner or lipstick and avoid corals, browns, bright pink and bronze shades. My favorite lip liner for stage makeup is MAC Burgundy, which I apply to the lip border (vermillion border) first, then apply to the rest of my lips. Next you will apply lipstick on top of the liner. I keep experimenting with lipstick shades but have a favorite (and it isn’t MAC!): Lancome Front Page. Despite my favorites, you should experiment to see what shades work best for your particular coloring.
The last step is lipgloss. I love MAC Plushglasses (Wildly Lush, Fulfilled, Big Kiss and Full For You are all wonderful shades for stage) because they impart a nice shine, aren’t sticky, and give a nice, tingly feeling to the lips.
