In the second largest steroid bust in United States history, a multi-jurisdictional task force including members of the IRS, DEA, and FDA made 53 arrests ending this morning at 4.30 AM. According to DEA spokesperson Rusty Payne, 53 people have been arrested and charged with various steroid, growth hormone, and related drug offenses in the Southern District of Texas, and 22 will additionally face Federal charges. The investigation began in ‘06 with a smaller bust that ultimately led authorities to the arrests made today.
