More Frequent Feedings Do Not Lead To Greater Results

feeedings1

The bodybuilding world is loaded with decade’s old dogma that seems to fall under increasing scrutiny with the advancement of science. And now science has determined that one of the sport’s most popular beliefs - that more frequent feedings “stoke the metabolic furnace” - appears to have been disproven. Recently researcher Brad Schoenfield released his findings from a meta anaylsis conducted to determine whether or not more frequent feedings had any real world impact on weight loss, fat loss, or muscle gain. After analyzing the data from fifteen studies that met the controlled criteria it was determined that eating thee meals per day is no more effective than six meals per day at altering body weight or body composition when assigned caloric value is the same. Although there the metabolic environment created by frequent training stimulus that unique to bodybuilders hasn’t been studied directly, at least for the moment it appears that science has broken down yet another age old myth rooted in fallacy.
