Kickin It With Karina: Beijos: Blog 1
Hi,this is Karina Nascimento and I wanted to thank you all for your support.

I just got through winning the first IFBB Women’s Physique Show at the Desert Muscle Classic in Arizona. I hope to bring an even better physique to the IFBB PRO GRAND PRIX in Culver City, California. The challenge is on for me. I have three children under the age of 8 and my husband travels a lot. Competing is my passion and the fact is there’s no easy way to do what we do. I don’t think that my diet is notably different than most competitors’ because it consists of oats, eggs, and chicken with asparagus, turkey, broccoli, yogurt, peanut butter, a scoop of protein, fish and salad.

Apprime, an adverb in Latin translates to "above all"
which succinctly defines my credo,
"fitness above all…mind, body, spirit”
Welcome to my bi-weekly blog! When I was approached about doing a blog my first thought was do I have time in my busy life. My second thought was it is a great opportunity to reach out to more people, let them know how I balance my life and help others find ways to balance theirs and lead a more fulfilling life. I decided realistically writing a blog once a week may not be feasible for me, but I’m sure I could handle a bi-weekly blog.

If you can uncover your façade…You may now enter my masquerade. In other words…..Welcome to my blog.
It was suggested that I write a little about myself to introduce and/or refreshen everyone with my background. It's been 2 years since my last stage appearance so I'm gonna break it down in a recap so I don't bore you with the details:

Getting Started With Narmin Assria-Chapter 1
What’s up everyone Narmin here. Hope everyone’s week is going great. So I just stepped off stage this past weekend in AZ, Desert Muscle Classic Bikini Pro. What an experience, first show of the year for me and I took it by storm. I placed second in the competition and I feel incredible. My coach Kim Oddo and I brought a fuller package to the stage and let me tell you it helped. I’m a very small petite young lady only 5’1 but don’t let the size fool you, when my heels hit that stage I take over.

Hi friends!
So I am 4 weeks out from the Arnold and am feeling great!
I have moments of doubt and panic, but I know that won’t help me one bit so I refocus and think POSITIVE. This opportunity is exactly that: a great opportunity to show everyone just what I am made of. I know how hard I have worked up until now and I am going to do all I can to showcase that hard work in 24 days.

I hope that the first month of 2012 was kind to you and that you are still on that New Year's resolution bandwagon! In January the gym was packed with all sorts of newbies and as per usual, my inbox has been piling up with all sorts of questions about getting started on a fitness and/or meal plan, goal setting, and competing -- keep them coming!

Candyce Graham Stays Hungry For The Arnold Stage: The Game Plan
The first step in my amazing journey is “getting my mind right to get my grind right!” I must be mentally prepared to make the necessary sacrifices in order to reach my ultimate goal...ARNOLD BIKINI INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION!!! I believe strong minds create strong bodies and one must visualize what they want to look like before they begin their journey. If you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you get there?

So I’m about 7 weeks out from the Arnold’s and I’m surprisingly calm. I’m sure that won’t last very long haha! I know from past experiences that stressing out is just a waste of energy. I am trying to remain focused and on track.

Candice Keene Back In Prep: “Finding Your Focus”
Hey Guys!
Hope everyone is having a great start to 2012! The first week has already flown by, and the Arnold is quickly approaching.. 7weeks! Excited to get this season up and going! As the New Year turned over, I started reflecting a lot from 2011 and thought about what I would like to achieve in 2012. I, like many other people, kind of felt in a short-term limbo. It’s normal; new year, new reflection, new thoughts…and yes, new worries. We all do it. I always seem to be somewhere in my prep mode around this time, so my emotions can sometimes get affected more so than other times of the year. I had a short 2-week spurt of a frequency change in my thoughts, my motivation level, my concentration, and my confidence. But I caught it, analyzed all the associating factors and FIXED IT!!! I can now confidently say, “I caught it and kicked it to the curb! CK is back and gears are now shifted into overdrive!!” :)

Hi Everyone!
I hope you had an absolutely wonderful holiday and are now back into the swing of things and ready to take on 2012! The past year has been extremely busy, very exciting, and from a fitness point of view I am really looking forward to what lies ahead. My coach Tad Inoue and I had our first call of the year yesterday, and we decided that my first show of 2012 will be the Europa Show of Champions in Orlando, FL on April 27-28!

Raechelle Chase Back On Track: Your Best Year Yet
How can you get on track and stay on track with your training and make this your best year yet? Raechelle Chase tells us how…
I love the New Year… it’s the holiday season and the season of new beginnings.
There is much to love. The long summer days hanging out with family and friends, the barbecues, the beach fun. But what I love most about this time of year, in terms of my training and life in general, is using the New Year as an opportunity to refocus. That is the beauty of a new year ahead – no matter what happened last year, the slate is wiped clean and 2012 marks a new year, a new raft of possibility.
However, the holiday season can also be a challenging time for training. The temptation is always there when we take a break – the temptation to over-indulge, as well as lose focus. So how can we stay on track to make sure we start the New Year off well?

Oh what a journey it has been!! Olympia and now Bikini International!! I’m beyond excited and blessed to be one of the beautiful women invited to compete at the Arnold Sport Festival. It was like yesterday I dreamed of walking across the infamous Arnold stage and in 8 weeks I will get the opportunity to do so. Wow!
The crazy thing is that I had no idea I was invited until I received numerous text messages from friends, while at work, saying congratulations.I remember thinking to myself, what the heck did I do!?! Did I win the lottery? LOL! Little did I know, I had won the Arnold lottery:)!!!

The Return of Zoa Linsey: Heading To The Arnold: 9 Week Out
9 weeks & 2 days pre-show! Putting into words what being invited to the Ms. International 2012 means to me this year is nearly impossible. After my sudden neck herniation I suffered 2 days before the Ms. Olympia 2010, then the resultant neck fusion surgery 2 weeks later and the long-term recovery process, I had no guarantees that I would ever return to the stage. I hunted high and low for other athletes with a similar situation and found virtually nothing!

Last year I watched the IFBB Fitness girls compete at the Arnold Classic. I was on the edge of my seat in awe. More than anything I wanted to be up there with them! I made a promise to myself that I was going to make it there…one day
Little did I know it was going to be the very next year! I worked so hard this past year. I tried for my pro card at the CBBF National Championships and just missed placing 2nd in the Overall. I wasn’t going to miss it again. I continued to work my butt of and won my pro card at the IFBB North Americans.

Candice Keene Back In Prep..........
Hey guys!
Well, I am about two weeks into my prep now and am feeling quite fantastic actually! The week before I started, I mentally prepped myself so the first week wouldn’t be so bad. For me, it usually takes me a good week to two weeks to get back in routine and for my cravings to go away. I also have found myself to be in really good spirits since Day 1 of my prep, so this I believe, will determine how my final outcome will be. Have a positive attitude people! As this produces positive results.:)
