Who is Victoria Dominguez????

RX4Ever hear the catch phrase "There are two sides to every story"?  Well, the same can be said about me...or my personality that is.  There are two sides to my persona and when brought together, they create the unique combination of who Victoria Dominguez is and what I represent. My cultural background is as unique and dynamic as the woman you're reading about.  I am a mixture of Spanish and Caribbean. I have three older brothers and one younger brother. I'm true to my zodiac sign Taurus (I'm always right ,stubborn to the bone and loyal to those I consider friends and family) and anyone that knows me knows I'm a hustler, workaholic, a comedian and more than just a pretty face. Aside from those colorful adjectives I'm also selfish. Just ask my younger brother. When I do give I give fully and never expect anything in return, but a thank you would be nice. I'm also known to be very opinionated, which some people see it as refreshing where others might find it offensive. Didn't say I was perfect .

When asked what my strengths and weakness are I prefer to see myself as a constant work in progress, always moving forward and constantly growing both spiritually, mentality and physically.

You do have a very unique and streamlined structure. A product of the strong genetics of the Spanish and the Caribbean, would you say?

I was born in the United States, but yes my ethnicity is Spanish and Caribbean more specifically, Cuban and Jamaican so someone could argue that this combination has given me a unique physical structure. I hope to see it evolve enough to make me competitive in professional female body building, while it is still around that is.

I see myself as a guy's girl. Not overly girly and really not into dressing up.   I hate shopping, however when I do clean up I clean up very well. I am also a huge sports fanatic.  No, I don't have a favorite team or player, but I love MMA, Football, Basketball and track and field. I love combat sports the most. People admire the discipline that I have to diet and to compete and it's that same admiration I have for those that compete in MMA. Putting your body on the line, the artistry, skill, drive, will to win with the occasional luck needed makes a great combination of athletic ability and skill set.

What is your favorite quote?

There is a saying that I will forever be fond of, and believe in: "The most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle... The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well". Basically, it is not about the end result, but what you go through to get there, to learn about yourself and form character and values.

RX1Would you say that is the take you have on your competing in bodybuilding? Forget the terms of endearment stuff. Don't get me wrong, the journey is great but I want the end result which is to win. Being a minority and a woman, plus a former athlete, you get enough of life's lessons that are learned through struggles, triumphs, and overcoming and persevering in the day to day challenges that life hands you. As a result you better move quick or get hit, or in my case come out swinging hard. My character and values have been instilled in me since childhood from my parents. My life's learning experiences both good and bad have given me the ability to always push forward.

It's these varying components that have made success in body bodybuilding (though not easy by any stretch of the imagination) obtainable to me. Because of this, I have been able to make a much easier transition into the sport since I already had the discipline and hard work ethic that both my parents and participating in athletics have instilled in me. For me, competing is just that. I only started competing last year, but I have always worked out, so now I just have a forum in which to showcase my hard work.

What has this past competition season taught you?

Last year was my first year competing and I took away a lot from doing shows. First, conquering your fears is an opportunity for growth. I had been holding myself back all that time for the fear of failing. Then finally after a long talk with myself, and a little nudge from my little brother,  I started to realize my only failure came from me not trying, so I tried and now I am looking forward to competing again this year.

The other lesson I learned is when participating in a sport or exhibition such as body building, politics do come into play, which tarnishes the overall integrity of the sport. Were not always being judged based on what were presenting that day on stage. At times other factors can rear its ugly head and come into play determining how someone will place. Being a former track runner, the concept is simple. Cross the line first and you win. In body building your body can be on point and represent what the judges are looking for that day, but still you do not do well. I have seen this happen. So for now when compete,, I mind my own business, and I just pray for the best.

RX5What do you like to do outside of the industry?

That's simple. I am lover of music. From Jazz to House, to R&B to Dance Hall and yes even Country and Classical. My different moods or what I am doing will depict what sort of music I will listen too. However, variety for the spice of life comes to a HALT when it comes to food!!!!NO WAY JOSE. I'm a free spirit, andrenaline junkie, and love to think outside box . Hell, I live outside the box. I am as open as the sea and love trying new things and for sure new adventures and experiences, but when it comes to food..... NO!!! If I can't recognize it I won't eat it...... period. No need to tickle my taste buds! That is the one aspect of my life that I am predictable. I love big dogs...... people not so much!  I recently had to put down my 12 year old Pit Bull so I am looking forward to getting another dog at the end of the year.

Do you like bodybuildling men?

Hmmmmm... On any given Sunday.

I love athletic men who at some point in time played sports or still do.  Yes, I find bodybuilding men attractive and I have much respect for them since I now understand the process it takes to compete. I could also give you a long list of who shot john etc..etc. about the sort of guy I like but I say let's call a spade a spade.  You can be a sexy guy, but as soon as you open your mouth and your true self comes through your ugly!  You can be that average guy that steals the show just because you're not afraid of being yourself. I am firm believer that you must have physical attraction and chemistry to get your foot in the door now what happens after that well that remains to be seen, but it better be good. On a final note about who I am, it's easier to say what I am not, but that is something that only those that take the time to look beyond the pretty face ad rough exterior will ever really come to comprehend and understand.
