This was the first time for this event and it proved to be a huge success with plenty of new and a few “names” competing. The show was relaxed and friendly which meant it was a lot easier on the first-time competitors taking to the stage. The crowd was loud and supportive of their friends and for many of them it was their first time to a show so it was good to hear them so vocal.

The promoter was Amanda Doherty who added lots of female touches like nice food and sweets and drinks backstage for the athletes as well as nice touches like flowers and specially made medallions for the competitors.

Spotted supporting the show were IFBB Pro competitors Rinnah Schmid, Laurie Keddie, Amy Wright, as well as IFBB National champions Sarah Allen, Scott Goble and Jodie Parker.

The show began with the Junior Bikini, the first time on stage for a lot of the girls. With most of these girls you would never know that this was the first competition, with most displaying very confident stage presence. One of the stand outs at the show was Emily Waters, only 16 years old and coming second in the Bikini Junior. If she keeps going the way she is, Emily could be a future star in the IFBB Bikini Open.

In the Figure division, the top 3 were all National level competitors and it was going to be a battle between the shape of Emillie-Jean Bisgrove Cole and Yvette Brown and the super sharp and perhaps overdone, cut to the bone Katie Morris. Katie ended up winning and was in amazing condition but in this writer’s opinion, she is edging more towards Physique than Figure with the look she brought to the stage this time.

Overall, this was an enjoyable event with not too much controversy and lots of competitors eager to get back on stage to do it again.
