Success in Failure

WeTom Before and After hit the gym, the track, pool, or cycling circuit with limitations and established parameters of strength and conditioning based on our current fitness levels.  In order to improve conditioning and strength, we MUST push our bodies beyond failure.  When we go down to do a push-up for example and stop at 20 reps when we might have been able to do 25, we are not doing ourselves justice towards reaching our full potential!

The speed at which we are able to transform our bodies is controlled first and foremost by our mindset!  The mind drives success and the speed at which it is achieved.

First, get you mind focused. Next, leave it all at the gym, or pool, or whatever activity you are doing with no regrets! When you do this, you can walk away with pride in your work and be happy with the strides you have made.  Give it everything you have every day (and this includes the kitchen too). By doing this you will turn your fitness dreams into reality.  A transformed body is the culmination of blood, sweat, and tears.   Failure is your friend when you are pushing your body.  It's an immediate report card of where you have been and are currently.  In fitness training, failure rewards you with growth!  How cool is that?!?!

In regards to achieving your fitness goals and competing on stage, anyone can give up and lots of people do. They do this because it’s the easiest option when things get difficult. But to keep going when everyone would understand if you stopped, that my friend is what winners do differently.  We have all heard the excuses, hell we probably have said them ourselves:  “I'm too tired, I'm too sore, it's way too hot to exercise, too tough a day at work, I really want to watch my show on TV, I will start tomorrow...I promise!”  Sound familiar?  It sure did for me. That was before I found success in failure. That was when I decided to KEEP GOING. These little “failures” in turn ultimately lead to success in the gym and in competitions.

Training for something important like a competition is NOT EASY!  Anyone who tells you differently is lying.  There are no magic pills, or potions, or 5 minute routines!  If there were, believe me, I would have found them!  The truth is that the path to health and wellness and achieving your ultimate physique is a long one!  It is filled with set-backs, soreness and sometimes even injury.  But the key is to keep moving and to keep pressing forward. Keep your eyes on the prize, whatever that prize may be!  Anything worth having is worth fighting for!

The bottom line is that you deserve to be in the best shape your body is capable of achieving. We all deserve this victory!  This is a continuing journey of hard work and transformation. It is.a path we must endure to reach our objectives.
