Meet MP Competitor Jeremiah Towery

Joining FCPOTW2us today is Jeremiah Towery.  Welcome to the ranks of those that have competed on the national stage!  What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?
Thanks, although I really wanted to finish a bit better than I did. I Love to compete as an athlete and with my career this is about the only thing I can manage to give my all to, plus being taller than most body builders I think the criteria fits my physique.

Can you tell us a little about the Competition in which you just competed?
Well I really was looking towards having a great showing, but it didn't turn out that way. I thought I was going to be upset; but, I really wasn't.  I wanted to learn everything I could to become what it takes to be a PRO!

How did you feel after pre-judging?
I was confused but then I realized I couldn't be upset, that there were a lot of great athletes and only one could get that pro card, that it just wasn't my time yet

How did you feel about the final results of the show?
I felt that everyone they picked was worthy of their placing. It’s a tough category to judge. You have to make an impression on the judges and the crowd to be not overlooked.

What are your thoughts on the Men's Physique Division and what it may be able to do for your career?
I like it! I'm just getting into all the bodybuilding history so I can't make a whole lot of claims on it. But I will say I think it's a great category for people who diet and train hard but just don't have the size of a PRO body builder. The MPD could do great for my career as I'm a NASM Personal Trainer. After my first show I had so many people at my gym come up to me congratulate me but also say how they had no idea I looked like that. Being as tall as I am and wearing the uniform I wear for work its not very revealing of my hard work. Because of it people are asking me things all the time, and are requesting me for training! I want to eventually move and or start my own gym and having the title of a Pro body builder it would give me a greater desire plus all the information I could get from other competitors and other successful people.

Favorite supplement: WSPOTW1
I'd have to say gold standard Optimum Nutrition Whey protein, I'm not that educated on supplements so I don't take many, I think that is hindering my progress in a way.

What peaked your interest in training?
Sports! I've loved playing sports for as long as I can remember, and I wanted to be the best at whatever I was doing and I thought being bigger, faster, stronger would help me accomplish that.

Who influences/influenced your training?
I get super amped off of Greg Plitt and the way he explains training. I like the passion he has about training and I think you have to be passionate about it or you won't stay committed to reach your fitness goals. But everyday I look online to just be amazed by someone in the professional who shows that kind of passion in their training

Sports: Basketball, Football, Baseball

Special interests: I like to draw, to influence and positively reinforce people which works great through personal training

Physique, fitness, bodybuilding competition history:
4-28-12 Fox Cities Showdown Little Chute, WI 1st place and the overall winner MPD
5-19-12 Wisconsin State - Middleton, WI 1st place and the overall winner MPD
6-16-12 Junior Nationals - Chicago, IL 16th along with 6 others out of 22

Awards and/or accomplishments:
Two wins in MPD and overalls, but I put together 34 person team last June for a tough mudder run, I've been apart of a great traveling softball team who always competed very well in worlds and super worlds but never winning the big one except the local City Tourney

Next planned competition:
I’m not 100% sure but I want to compete in the National shows and earn that Pro Card. Right now I'm working on finding sponsor(s) to help assist with some of the traveling costs!

What keeps you on track towards reaching your goals?
I strive for perfection even If I would've won a Pro card last weekend that wouldn’t have stopped me from continuing to improve.  I want to be better at everything I do! I just want to improve everyday at everything continue to evolve as a person!

Interesting fact or something you would like our readers to know about you:
I was really good at sports when I was younger and right before I entered high school I started hanging out with older people who influenced me in the wrong direction.  As a young gullible youth with no parental guidance I became victim of wanting to fit in with everyone. So then all my dreams of ever becoming that Pro baseball, football, or basketball player didn't have a shot. I never gave myself the opportunity in high school to progress to college and then the possibility of becoming a pro was squashed because of the unwise choices I made as a youth. So the thought that I could answer my dream at becoming a PRO in the MPD would bring my childhood dreams into reality after the setback at an early age. Just the thought of it is giving me chills!
