Meet MP Competitor Dexter Hardy

 

Todayimage Dexter Hardy is joining us.  Thanks for taking the time and also congrats on a great showing in Miami! What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?

I was introduced the Men’s Physique Division by Dexter Martin at GoLive Fitness in Atlanta, GA.  He approached me while working out one day in LA Fitness.  I have never considered myself to be a bodybuilder though.  I just generally like to stay fit and workout.

 

Can you tell us a little about the Competition you just competed in?

My most recent competition was NPC Nationals (Miami, FL) in November 2011.  It was the largest National show in the history of the NPC with 950+ competitors. It was great to be a part of such a monumental event.

How did you feel after pre-judging?
I felt that I had presented the judges with a compelling physique compared to the other great competitors that were at Nationals.  I will have to say that, “It was an honor to mix it up with and to be consider one the best physiques in the country”.

 

How did you feel about the final results of the show?
GAME ON! Back to the gym to work, improve and prepare for the next show!!!

 

What are your thoughts on the Men's Physique Division and what it may be able to do for your career?
The MP Division is great.  I think it will continue to grow much like it did throughout this year.  I am not certain what opportunities will come out of this. I have enjoyed the ride so far and the future is looking bright!

What peaked your interest in training?
My wife starting training for her show and made a birthday request that I compete as well.

My three boys who are extremely active influenced my training.

Will look at the upcoming shows for first quarter of 2012? Maybe a show on the west coast.

 

What keeps you on track towards reaching your goals?
My wife – She is a NPC National Level Women’s Physique competitor. She placed 14th Nationals in Miami.
